Mosley raided an illicit distillery on a farm in Pamlico County, NC.  During the raid, the agents observed two still hands and although one escaped, the other, Solomon Guion, was arrested. While the agents were destroying the still, Guion somehow managed to get free, grab Agent Davies' gun and shoot him.  Agent Davies died at the scene.  Guion escaped and despite a massive manhunt and the arrests of additional suspects, he was never found.
