Indianapolis Man Sentenced to 27 Years for Armed Robberies of Local Businesses

INDIANAPOLIS — Joseph H. Hogsett, United States Attorney, announced today that Justin Smith, 28, Indianapolis, was sentenced to 27 years in prison today by U.S. District Judge William T. Lawrence. This followed Smith’s guilty pleas to robbery and brandishing a firearm in connection with a crime the robbery. This case was the result of a one-year investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. More »

Bloomington Man Sentenced to 15 Years in Federal Prison For Possession of a Machine Gun

Gallagher, 29, of Bloomington, Indiana, was sentenced to 180 months in prison today by U.S. District Judge Sarah Evans Barker following his guilty plea to possessing firearms while engaged in drug-trafficking activity, announced Timothy M. Man Accused of Mansfield Firebombing Arrested

Leader of Drug Trafficking Conspiracy Sentenced

The United States Attorney’s Office announced that Marlyn Barnes, 26, of Gary, Indiana, was sentenced to 292 months imprisonment for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 5 kilograms of cocaine, and 60 months imprisonment for armed drug trafficking to be served consecutively, with all to be followed by 5 years supervised release, after being convicted after a jury trial in February, 2008.
