Welcome to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Nashville Division. The Nashville Field Division encompasses the states of Tennessee and Alabama, from Music City USA to the Gulf Coast. The Nashville Field Division is responsible for enforcing federal laws pertaining to gun crime, arson, explosives and alcohol/tobacco diversion. ATF is also responsible for regulating and investigating private industry relating to firearms and explosives.

The dedicated men and women of ATF in the Nashville Field Division and throughout the country is comprised of special agents, industry operations investigators, forensic auditors, certified fire investigators, certified explosive specialists and a variety of administrative/support staff.

ATF is committed to reducing violent crime and keeping our neighborhoods safe. ATF’s Nashville Field Division special agents focus investigative efforts on violent offenders, armed career criminals, gun traffickers and gangs. Our industry operations investigators work to ensure that firearms and explosives are manufactured handled, stored and sold in a safe but lawful manner. We work in partnership with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies throughout Tennessee and Alabama to accomplish these goals.

Investigating gun crime, firearms trafficking, criminal bombings and suspected acts of arson are all vital aspects of the ATF mission. ATF’s Nashville Field Division special agents combat arson and explosives-related crimes by conducting intense proactive investigations while working in partnerships with local/state fire investigators and police bomb squads.

Calvin Quintez Williams Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison for the Distribution of Cocaine Base (“Crack”) and Possession of a Firearm

July 27, 2010

Calvin Quintez Williams, 21, of Kingsport, Tennessee, was sentenced in United States District Court in Greeneville, on July 26, 2010, to a term of 120 months in prison and eight years supervised release, by the Honorable R. Leon Jordan, United States District Judge. The sentence was the result of a guilty plea by Williams on August 27, 2009, to possession with the intent to distribute more than five grams of crack cocaine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Fifteen Arrested on Federal Methamphetamine Charges in Van Buren County

Twelve men and three women were arrested today in Van Buren County on charges involving various violations of federal narcotics and firearms laws. Today’s arrests by agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), and Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department, are the result of a two-year investigation into the manufacture and distribution of methamphetamine in and around Van Buren County. Twenty-Six Alleged Bloods Gang Members and Associates Indicted on Federal Racketeering, Firearms and Narcotics Charges

A federal grand jury in Nashville, Tenn., has indicted 26 members and associates of the violent gang known as the Bloods, for various charges, including conspiracy to participate in a racketeering enterprise, conspiracy to commit murder in aid of racketeering, assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering, assault resulting in serious bodily injury in aid of racketeering, conspiracy to use and carry firearms during and in relation to crimes of violence, and conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute crack cocaine, cocaine, hydromorphone and marijuana. Allen Scott Hicks Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison for Armed Robbery of Hampton Pharmacy

Allen Scott Hicks, 52, of Elizabethton, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, at Greeneville. The sentence was the result of a December 3, 2009, guilty plea by Hicks to a federal grand jury indictment charging him with robbery of a pharmacy and using and carrying a firearms during the robbery. ATF National Response Team Activated to Hoover, Alabama

January 20, 2010

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) National Response Team, along with ATF special agents from the Nashville Field Division, have entered the investigation of a hotel fire that occurred Saturday, January 16, 2010, at 1535 Montgomery Highway, in Hoover. The NRT responded at the request of Hoover authorities, and the Nashville Field Division has established a command post in the area. More »

Twenty-Six Indicted For Methamphetamine Conspiracy

January 7, 2010

A federal grand jury in Chattanooga returned a 38-count indictment on December 8, 2009, against twenty-six individuals of Bledsoe, Grundy, Hamilton, Marion, and Sequatchie Counties, for conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine and to acquire and possess pseudoephedrine, a precursor chemical used to manufacture methamphetamine, as well as numerous substantive counts stemming from the manufacture and distribution of methamphetamine, the illegal possession of firearms, and maintaining “drug houses,” located in various local counties in Tennessee.
