Davis FY-98-11 Date: June 11, 1998 ATF Names Deputy Assistant Director for Liaison and Public Information The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) recently named Candace E. Moberly as the Deputy Assistant Director of Liaison and Public Information. Ms. Moberly returned to Bureau headquarters from the Midwest District where she held the position of District Director since April of 1996. In her new position, she will be responsible for matters relating to public and media information, and Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts. In 1975, Ms. Moberly joined ATF as an inspector in Kansas City. From there she has held a variety of different positions throughout ATF. In 1989, Ms. Moberly served in Bureau Headquarters as Chief of the Special Programs Branch, and then in 1991, went on to become Chief of the Product Compliance Branch. In 1993, Ms. Moberly became a member of the initial team to set up the President’s reinvention initiatives for the Treasury Department. Upon returning to ATF, Ms. Moberly became Deputy Chief of the Industry Compliance Division. In 1994, she was then selected as Chief of the Alcohol and Tobacco Programs Division. Then, in 1996, Ms. Moberly returned to the field where she served as District Director of the Midwest District until becoming Deputy Assistant Director of Liaison and Public Information. A native of Salina, Kansas, she attended the University of Kansas, where she received her bachelor’s degree in 1969. Ms. Moberly resides in Virginia. - end -
