Interim
Reporting Instructions for Arson and Explosives Incidents

The Attorney General (AG) has directed that the Department of Justice’s “Chief Information Officer (CIO) … consolidate all of the Department’s arson and explosives incident databases … into a single database.” He further directed that these databases “shall be maintained by ATF.” The CIO is to report on the feasibility of consolidating all of the databases within 90 days.

At the request of the CIO, until a database has been selected, the ATF Arson and Explosives National Repository (Repository) will continue to accept any and all incident reports directly from state and local agencies. Additionally, agencies are encouraged to submit any subsequent reports that provide additional details on an incident.

Reports can be faxed to 1-866-927-4570, e-mailed to aenrb@atf.gov or mailed to: Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Arson and Explosives National Repository Branch, PO Box 50980, Washington, DC, 20077-8001. Please call 800-461-8841 or contact the Repository at aenrb@atf.gov if you have questions.

ATF is dedicated to providing bomb technicians, fire investigators and others who strive to keep Americans safe from the criminal misuse of fire and explosives, with a broad range of informational products and support. Your cooperation and patience is appreciated during this period of transition.
