St. Louis, MO — Glenn A. Ruble was indicted on multiple federal firearms charges, Acting United States Attorney Michael W. Reap announced today.
Ruble, 59, Vulcan, MO, was indicted by a federal grand jury on one felony count of possession of a machine gun, one felony count of possession of a machine gun not registered to him in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record, and one felony count of possession of a firearm by an unlawful user of a controlled substance. The indictment alleges that these activities occurred on February 6, 2009 in Iron County, MO. Ruble appeared in federal court earlier today.
If convicted, each count of the indictment carries a maximum penalty of ten years in prison and/or fines up to $250,000.
Reap commended the work on the case by the Iron County Sheriff’s Department, the Pilot Knob Police Department, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and Assistant United States Attorney Ray Meyer, who is handling the case for the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
The charges set forth in an indictment are merely accusations, and each defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
