ATF Announces Final Rule on Storage of Shock Tube With Detonators

WASHINGTON - The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) today announced a final rule amending regulations in 27 CFR Part 555 to allow storage of shock tube with detonators, because these materials when stored together do not pose a mass detonation hazard.

ATF is a principal law enforcement agency within the U.S. Department of Justice dedicated to protecting communities from violent criminals, criminal organizations, the illegal use and trafficking of firearms, the illegal use and storage of explosives, as well as acts of arson and bombings. The men and women of ATF perform the dual responsibilities of enforcing federal criminal laws and regulating the firearms and explosives industries.
