Yakima — James A. McDevitt, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington, announced the culmination of a multi-agency gang enforcement operation in the Yakima valley.

On June 30, 2010, local and federal law enforcement concluded a joint operation in the upper Yakima valley focused on apprehending individuals identified as a danger to the community and those with ties to gangs and gang activity. The operation began on Thursday afternoon, June 24, with the arrest of 36 year old Javier Garcia-Espinoza in Yakima, Washington. A total of fifteen individuals were arrested in Yakima, Union Gap, Wapato and Moxee. James A. McDevitt, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington, said, I am extremely proud of our law enforcement partners coming together in a coordinated and cohesive effort that leverages all the tools at our collective disposal to combat crime.
