ATF Offers $5000 Rewards for Gun Store Burglaries

HARTSVILLE, S.C. — Zebedee T. Graham, Special Agent in Charge of the Charlotte Field Division, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), has announced two separate rewards of up to $5,000 each for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for burglaries of the Ace Hardware at 935 South Fourth Street and Big Al’s Gun and Pawn at 328 South Fifth Street, Hartsville, South Carolina. Both are federally licensed firearms dealers.
On April 30, 2010, three persons entered the Ace Hardware store in Hartsville and stole fifteen firearms during business hours.
On May 30, 2010, someone broke into Big Al’s Gun and Pawn in Hartsville through the ceiling and stole 20 long guns. There is no indication the two burglaries are linked at this time.
The burglaries of these gun stores are being investigated by ATF and the Hartsville Police Department.
