Virginia Beach Member of the Mongol’s Motorcycle Gang Pleads Guilty to Machinegun Charge
ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Justin Wilson, 29, of Virginia Beach, Va., pleaded guilty today to possession and transfer of a machinegun.
Neil H. MacBride, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, and Edgar A. Domenech, Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ (ATF) Washington Field Division, made the announcement after the plea was accepted by United States District Judge Leonie M. Brinkema.
Wilson was indicted on July 15, 2010, by a federal grand jury on possession of a machine charges. Wilson faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison when he is sentenced on Dec. 3, 2010.
Wilson admitted in court today that he is a member of the Mongol’s Motorcycle Gang in Virginia Beach. In a statement of facts filed with his plea agreement, Wilson admitted that he sold a fully automatic, AK-style rifle to an undercover agent in Fairfax County, Va. Markings on the firearm show that the machinegun was manufactured in Russia and was once the property of the Iraqi Armed Forces.
This case was investigated by The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Special Assistant United States Attorney Sam Kaplan is prosecuting the case on behalf of the United States.
