U.S. Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a woman charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance was sentenced on October 25, 2010, by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey L. Viken. Charlee Angelene Bad Wound, age 21, of Arizona, was sentenced to 51 months of imprisonment, three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay $100 to the Victim Assistance Fund. Bad Wound was indicted for Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance, and Unlawful User of a Controlled Substance in Possession of a Firearm by a federal grand jury on November 18, 2009. Bad Wound was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for speeding on Interstate 90 near Rapid City. The highway patrolman, upon a consented search of the vehicle, discovered approximately 14 grams of methamphetamine and other illegal controlled substances in the vehicle, along with a loaded semi-automatic Norinco rifle. Bad Wound pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance on August 7, 2010. This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Unified Narcotics Enforcement Team, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark A.
