$10,000 Reward Offered for Information on Hitching Post Inn Arson
CHEYENNE, WYO. — Investigators from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the Cheyenne Police Department announced today a reward of $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for the arson fire to the historic Hitching Post Inn.
At approximately 6:24 a.m., on September 15, 2010, a fire was reported at the Hitching Post Inn located at 1700 W. Lincolnway. The ATF National Response Team (NRT) and the Cheyenne Fire and Police Departments determined that the fire was deliberately set.
This senseless crime caused an unnecessary financial and emotional impact to Cheyenne, said Marvin Richardson, Special Agent in Charge, Denver Field Division.
ATF is determined to protect our local communities, and we are hopeful that the public can assist us in providing information which may lead us to the person or persons responsible for this crime.
The Cheyenne Police Department will continue to work with the ATF and aggressively investigate this arson, said Chief Brian Kozak.
The danger and burden this crime places on our citizens is unacceptable. This matter will not rest until the perpetrator or perpetrators are arrested and prosecuted.
