Sarasota Drug Trafficker Sentenced
Tampa, FL — U.S. Attorney Robert E. O’Neill announces that U.S. District Judge James S. Moody, Jr. today sentenced William Thomas White (37, Sarasota) to 295 months in federal prison for conspiring with others to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 5 kilograms or more of cocaine.
White was adjudicated guilty on December 28, 2010, following his guilty plea. According to court documents, between 2007 and 2010, White distributed more than 110 kilograms of cocaine to lower–level drug traffickers in Sarasota, for further distribution.
This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), and the Sarasota Police Department, as part of Operation SRQ Cartel, an on–going Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigation. It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Christopher F. Murray.
