18 Arrested in Crime Sweep on Milwaukee’s North Side
MILWAUKEE — During the past week more than 80 law enforcement officers fanned out across the north side of Milwaukee, arresting 18 targets for various federal and state criminal violations. Additionally, seven state search warrants were executed and additional evidence, including narcotics, firearms and ammunition was recovered.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), in partnership with the Milwaukee Police Department (MPD), Wisconsin Department of Justice–Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and the United States Secret Service (USSS) initiated multiple investigations on these defendants with the priority of making the north side of Milwaukee safer by the reduction of crime. The operation took place in MPD Districts 5 and 7.
ATF Assistant Special Agent in Charge Fred Milanowski stated, "ATF, along with our state and local partners, will continue to be committed to reducing violent crime in Milwaukee. This case is an excellent example of multiple agencies working together as a team in eradicating criminals and the fear they put out on the streets."
Federal charges are being prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office and state charges by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
