Felon in Possession of Multiple Firearms and More than 14,000 Rounds of Ammunition Receives 54 Months in Prison

PHOENIX, Ariz. — Keith Wayne Hill, 52, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Judge Gerald E. Rosen from the Eastern District of Michigan to 54 months followed by three years supervised release. Hill pleaded guilty June 1, 2011 to Felon in Possession of a Firearm and is currently in custody.

Defendant was charged with possessing one shotgun which he sold and then sawed off the barrel to an illegal length. When he was arrested at his residence many other weapons were located including: 16 firearms, 14,733 rounds of ammunition, a Nonel detonator, a silencer kit, 41 pounds of smokeless powder, 10 feet of cannon fuse, a hollow hand grenade and CO2 cartridge with green fuse.

The investigation in this case was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Arizona Department of Public Safety. The prosecution was handled by Lisa Jennis Settel, District of Arizona, Phoenix.
