BOISE – John Gable, Jr., 63, of Boise, Idaho, pleaded guilty today in federal court to unlawful possession of a firearm, U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson announced.
According to the plea agreement, on January 14, 2012, Gable was contacted by Boise Police regarding a verbal altercation at an apartment complex, where he was found in possession of a Ruger .45 semi-automatic pistol. According to court records, Gable is prohibited from possessing firearms due to a 1993 conviction for racketeering in U.S. District Court in Idaho, a felony offense punishable by a term of imprisonment exceeding one year.
The charge is punishable by up to ten years in prison, a maximum fine of $250,000, and up to three years supervised release.
