Topeka Man Sentenced To Nine Years In Cocaine Case
TOPEKA, KAN. — A Topeka man has been sentenced to nine years in federal prison for trafficking in cocaine, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said today.
Willie Marquis Halcrombe, Jr., 33, Topeka, Kan., pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine. In his plea, he admitted that on Dec. 14, 2011, police served a search warrant at his residence at 5919 S.W. Park in Topeka. They found more than 25 grams of cocaine hidden under a mattress. They also found two .45–caliber pistols and a 9 mm pistol in the apartment.
Grissom commended the narcotics division of the Topeka Police Department, the ATF Violent Crimes Task Force and Assistant U.S. Attorney Randy Hendershot for their work on the case.
