ATF Offers Reward in Sioux City Officer Shooting
SIOUX CITY, Iowa — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Kansas City Field Division is offering a reward of $5,000 for information that leads to the immediate apprehension of Jamal Dean, who is wanted for attempting to murder a Sioux City Police Officer. This is in addition to the previously announced reward of up to $10,000.
Dean has warrants for his arrest in connection to the April 29 shooting of Sioux City Police Officer Kevin McCormick. McCormick stopped a car that Dean was a passenger in when Dean stepped out of the car and fired upon the officer. Dean fled the area after the shooting and remains at large.
McCormick was treated for a gunshot wound to his head and has been released from a local hospital.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Dean should call 712–279–6960.
Dean is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached by the public.
