ATF Offers $5,000 Reward Regarding Pipe Bombs in New Mexico
PHOENIX— Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Bernard J. Zapor, of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Phoenix Division, announced today the posting of an award of up to $5,000.00 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the construction and delivery of six destructive devices recovered in the Roswell and Clovis, New Mexico areas. ATF is requesting that anyone that has any information related to these incidents to please contact ATF at 1-888-ATF-BOMB (888-283-2662).
During the time period between February 13, 2013 and May 14, 2013 law enforcement authorities in southeastern New Mexico have investigated incidents involving the recovery of at least six destructive devices, commonly referred to as pipe-bombs.
The devices are similar in construction, and with the exception of one, have been pipe bomb type devices. The one unique device recovered in Roswell, NM was a homemade hand grenade type device. These devices were recovered in outdoor areas in an intact unexploded state. These incidents occurred in Roswell and Clovis, New Mexico. ATF Special Agents are investigating these incidents with New Mexico State Police (NMSP) Bomb Squad Personnel, Clovis PD and Roswell PD.
Investigators are seeking the public’s help in solving these crimes and are hopeful that the reward will provide additional leads in this investigation.
