ATF Offers $5,000 Reward in New Mexico Pipe Bomb Investigation
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Special Agent in Charge Bernard J. Zapor today announced an award up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for placing two pipe bombs outside a New Mexico state probation and parole office on Thursday, Nov. 21.
The Albuquerque Police Department’s bomb squad safely defused two explosive devices found yesterday outside a state probation and parole office. Investigators are seeking the public’s help in solving this crime, and are hopeful that the reward will provide additional leads in this investigation.
“ATF is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for placing these pipe bombs,” said Zapor. “Our immediate concern is public safety. We are confident that the public can assist in providing critical information that ultimately will lead to an arrest(s) in our investigation.”
Anyone with information about the explosive devices or this crime is encouraged to call ATF's toll-free, 24-hour hotline at 1-888-ATF-BOMB (1-888-283-2662).
