Reward Offered for Information About Jefferson Street Arson
ROCHESTER — The New York Field Division, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the arson that occurred on August 12, 2012 at a residence located at 12 Jefferson Street in Rochester.
“Acts of arson are dangerous crimes that threaten the community. ATF is committed to keeping the public safe from those who maliciously set fires and to prevent those responsible from deriving any financial gain,” said ATF New York Field Division Special Agent in Charge Thomas J. Cannon. “We are asking the public to provide any information that would lead investigators to those responsible for this cowardly act of violence.”
The fire completely engulfed the structure and demolished it. A joint investigation is being conducted by the ATF, the Rochester Fire Department Fire Investigation Unit, Rochester Police Department, the Rochester Arson Task Force and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators have conducted a thorough examination of the fire scene and have classified it as incendiary. Investigators are seeking assistance from the public that may assist them in solving this crime. All calls will be kept confidential and callers may remain anonymous.
