K-9 Allegra came to ATF from the Guiding Eyes for The Blind program, and completed her 16-week training program as an Explosives Detection Canine (EDC) with ATF. She and her handler work many interesting investigations and assist local, state and other federal agencies with their investigations.

Recent Find:

On a recent investigation, Special Agent Canine Handler (SACH) Cheryl Bishop and K-9 Allegra responded to a request for assistance from the ATF Seattle Gun Group regarding a vehicle arriving by ferry from Alaska suspected of containing AK-47 firearms being transported to Mexico. Several random vehicles, including the identified suspect vehicle, were stopped as they drove off the ferry and screened by authorities. K-9 Allegra gave a positive alert at the rear of the suspect vehicle. A total of five firearms, including two rifles, three pistols, a drum magazine and multiple high-capacity rifle magazines were recovered from the rear of the vehicle.
