Chicago Latin King Gang Leader Sentenced to 20 Years in Federal Prison

Patrick Fitzgerald, United States Attorney for the Northern Judicial District of Illinois; Andrew L. Traver, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Field Division, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF); and Thomas Dart, Sheriff of Cook County, today announced that Fernando King, the second highest ranking member of the Latin Kings street gang in the Chicago area, was sentenced in U.S. District Court for the Northern Judicial District of Illinois before Judge David Coar to 240 months in federal prison for Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, and 120 months for Conspiracy to Possess a Controlled Substance. Four Chicago Gang Members Convicted In Federal Court For Gun And Drug Crimes

Traver, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and Jody Weis, Superintendent of the Chicago Police Department, today announced that Rondell “Nightfall” Freeman, 33; Brian Wilbourn, 31; Adam Sanders, 24; and Daniel Hill, 23; all former residents of the Cabrini Green housing project in Chicago, were found guilty in U.S. District Court by a jury before Federal Judge Joan Lefkow yesterday of various illegal drug and firearms charges, including narcotics conspiracy. Traver, announced today that on February 20, 2009, RAYFORD A. RODGERS, age 32, of 224 E. Third Street, Sparta, Illinois, and ANTHONY S. MORGAN, age 25, of 2630 Lincoln Avenue, East St. Louis, Illinois, were charged by Criminal Complaint in the Southern District of Illinois.
