Armed Drug Dealer Sentenced to 7 Years in Federal Prison

MADISON, WIS. -- Scott C. Blader, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Tou Yong Yee Xiong, 34, Wausau, Wis., was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge James D. Peterson to seven years in federal prison, followed by a four-year term of supervised release, for possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense. Xiong pleaded guilty to these charges on October 31, 2017.

In June 2017, Xiong was selling methamphetamine to an informant in Wausau. A warrant was executed at Xiong’s home on June 26, 2017, and officers recovered methamphetamine, evidence of drug dealing, and a loaded pistol. Xiong had previously displayed the pistol to the informant during a delivery of methamphetamine. In preparation for sentencing, Xiong admitted he sold methamphetamine for over a year.

The charges against Xiong were the result of an investigation conducted by Marathon County Sheriff’s Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The prosecution of the case has been handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Rita M. Rumbelow.
