Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives

DAYTON, Ohio – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) – the trade association for the firearms industry – announced a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the theft of firearms from Fox Shooting Loft, a federal firearms licensee located in Fairborn, Ohio.

ATF, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, and the NSSF are each offering a reward of up to $5,000, for a total possible reward of $15,000.

At approximately 3:45 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, an individual wearing a mask backed a stolen vehicle at high speed through the front entrance of Fox Shooting Loft, located at 8300 Dayton-Springfield Road, in Fairborn.  The individual stole 17 handguns.  The incident was recorded on surveillance video.  The vehicle was found abandoned a short distance away.  ATF and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office are working together to investigate the incident.

“If these weapons get on the streets of America and into the wrong hands, the result will be violence and death,” said Sheriff Gene A. Kelly, of Clark County, Ohio.

This reward is part of a larger national cooperative initiative between the NSSF and ATF in which NSSF matches ATF rewards in cases involving the theft of firearms from federally licensed retailers.  ATF works closely with the members of the firearms industry to curb the criminal acquisition and misuse of firearms.
