ATF, Firearms Industry Offer Reward in Cleveland Area Firearms Thefts
CLEVELAND – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) – the trade association for the firearms industry – have announced a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the theft of firearms from B&T Shooting Supplies, located in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, and Cleveland Armory, located in Valley View, Ohio. Both businesses are federal firearms licensees located in the Cleveland, Ohio area.
ATF is offering a reward of up to $5,000, which will be matched by the NSSF for a total possible reward of $10,000.
In the early morning hours of Monday, Sept. 8, 2015, several individuals burglarized B&T Shooting Supplies, located on Pearl Road in Middleburg Heights, Ohio and stole 15 handguns. On Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, again in the early morning hours, an individual or individuals burglarized Cleveland Armory, located on Bank Street in Valley View, Ohio and stole 11 handguns. Both incidents were recorded on video. ATF is working with the Middleburg Heights Police Department and the Valley View Police Department to investigate these incidents.
Anyone having information about these burglaries or recognizing the individuals in the attached video should contact ATF at 1-800-ATF-GUNS (800-283-4867). All calls will be kept confidential.
This reward is part of a larger national cooperative initiative between the NSSF and ATF in which NSSF matches ATF rewards in cases involving the theft of firearms from federally licensed retailers. ATF works closely with the members of the firearms industry to curb the criminal acquisition and misuse of firearms.
