ATF, Firearms Industry Offer Reward in Indianapolis Firearms Theft

INDIANAPOLIS – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) – the trade association for the firearms industry – have announced a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the theft of firearms from Profire Arms and Supply, a federal firearms licensee in Indianapolis, Ind.

ATF is offering a reward of up to $5,000, which will be matched by the NSSF for a total possible reward of $10,000.

Either Friday, Sept. 19, 2014 or early Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, an individual or individuals stole a white trailer from Profire Arms and Supply, located on Rockville Road in Indianapolis.  This trailer held more than 24 firearms, including automatic weapons, and approximately 20,000 rounds of ammunition.  ATF, the Indiana State Police, and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating.

Anyone having information about the burglary should contact ATF at 1-800-ATF-GUNS (800-283-4867).  All calls will be kept confidential.

Callers may also provide information anonymously by contacting the following offices:

ATF- Indianapolis I Field Office at (317) 287-3500

Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS

This reward is part of a larger national cooperative initiative between the NSSF and ATF in which NSSF matches ATF rewards in cases involving the theft of firearms from federally licensed retailers.  ATF works closely with the members of the firearms industry to curb the criminal acquisition and misuse of firearms.
