ATF Offering $25,000 Reward for Information on Denver Pawn Shop Robberies

DENVER, Colo. — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is offering $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of suspects believed to be involved in multiple pawn shop robberies in the Denver Metro Area.

The suspects are believed to have stolen 27 firearms, including handguns and rifles, from the pawn shops over the past several months.

“These criminals are prepared, methodical and ready for a fight, making this situation like a primed powder keg,” said Denver Field Division Special Agent in Charge Ken Croke. “We are appealing to the public for help so we can end their dangerous spree before they hurt someone.”

In 2015, 133 firearms were reported stolen from licensed gun retailers, including pawn shops, in Colorado compared to 56 in 2014.

Potentially related robberies:

  1. Fast Cash Pawn and Pay Day Loan, 7595 East Iliff Ave., Denver
On Dec. 21, at about 9:47 a.m., two armed black males wearing masks and gloves entered the store and ordered customers behind the counter. They stole nine handguns and about $40,000 in cash, jewelry and other valuables.
  2. Fast Cash Pawn and Gold Center, 2551 Sheridan Blvd., Edgewater
On Oct. 4, at about 2 p.m., two black males and one black female wearing masks and gloves and armed with handguns entered the store and ordered the customers and employees to the floor. The suspects took customers’ cash and valuables and also stole cash, jewelry and most importantly for public safety, four AK-47/AR-15-style rifles from the store.
  3. Jumping Jack Cash, 5700 Lincoln Dr., Adams County
On July 13, at about 10:50 a.m., two black males wearing black hoodies, black bandanas on their faces and gloves entered the store through the back entrance with pistols drawn. The suspects stole $17,000 in cash and 14 handguns.
