ATF Offers $10K for Information on Gun Store Burglary

LOS ANGELES – Special Agent in Charge Bill McMullan of the Los Angeles Field Division, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) today announced ATF is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrests for firearms stolen from a federal firearms licensee (FFL).

Two burglaries have occurred in the past month at Centerfire Firearms, 3696 Sunnyside Drive, Riverside, California. The first burglary occurred around 5 a.m., Saturday, May 26, when suspects broke in the front door and stole eight long guns. The second burglary was Saturday, June 9, about 3 a.m., when suspects stole 15 firearms.  In this incident, three suspects broke into the gun store then fled in a dark gray or possibly black four-door Sedan.

“The trend of stealing firearms from licensed gun dealers is on the rise,” said McMullan. “This is not acceptable. ATF is dedicated to tracking down those responsible.”

ATF is working with Riverside Police Department seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects and the whereabouts of the stolen firearms. Anyone with information about this crime should contact ATF at (951) 320-7576 or Riverside PD Detective James Elliott at (951) 826-8729. Callers can remain anonymous. Information can also be sent to ATFTips@atf.gov, through ATF’s website at www.atf.gov/contact/atftips. Tips can be submitted anonymously using the Reportit® app or by visiting www.reportit.com.

ATF is offering $5,000 and the National Sports Shooting Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms industry, is offering $5,000 for a total reward up to $10,000. This reward is part of a larger national cooperative initiative between the NSSF and ATF in which NSSF matches up to $5,000 of ATF’s reward in cases involving the theft of firearms from federally licensed firearms retailers. ATF works closely with members of the firearms industry to curb the criminal acquisition and misuse of firearms.
