ATF Offers $15K for Information on Theft of Law Enforcement Property
OAKLAND, California – Special Agent in Charge Ray Roundtree of the San Francisco Field Division, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) today announced a reward of up to $15,000 for information leading to the arrest of the individual(s) responsible for the theft of law enforcement property taken from a locked vehicle on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018.
This theft occurred on Tuesday night around 8:05 p.m., near 1301 Clay St., Oakland, California. Among the items stolen from inside the vehicle was a locked green Pelican case containing a Colt M4 rifle and a Taser X26P.
“We are the lead federal law enforcement agency responsible for investigating firearms trafficking,” said Roundtree. “ATF considers a lost or stolen firearm a very serious matter. ATF’s highest priority is reducing violent crimes and stolen firearms are a method in which legal firearms are introduced into illegal commerce. Our agents are working diligently to make sure these items are recovered as quickly as possible.”
