ATF Offers $2,500 Reward for Information on Martin, Tennessee Arson

MARTIN, Tenn. — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Nashville Field Division, the Martin Police Department (MPD), Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) and the Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office (TSFMO) announced today a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the July 27, 2016 fire at a retail store, located 112 Regina Street, in Martin.

The fire was reported at approximately 5:00 am on July 27th and caused approximately $ 250,000.00 in damage to the building. An employee was found deceased as a result of the fire.  A thorough scene investigation was conducted by ATF and the TSFMO.  The fire is classified as incendiary or intentionally set.

ATF dispatched a Certified Fire Investigator (CFI) and additional special agents to the scene. CFIs are highly trained special agents, who provide technical support, analysis and assistance to its state and local partners in the areas of fire origin and cause determination and arson investigation.

The ongoing criminal investigation is being conducted by ATF, MPD, TBI and the TSFMO.  Anyone with the information about the incident should call ATF at 1-888-ATF-FIRE, or the Martin Police Department at (731) 587-5355.
