ATF Offers Reward in Arson

ATF, Detroit Fire Department seek public’s help in commercial fires

DETROIT — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in conjunction with the Detroit Fire Department have announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction for those responsible for three fires in occupied commercial buildings in Detroit and Hamtramck.   

 

On Oct. 28, 2017, the Detroit Fire Department responded to a fire at Hamtramck Hardware, in the 12200 block of Conant Street.  On Oct. 30, 2017, the Detroit Fire Department was called to a fire at Indian Fashions, in the 11500 block of Conant Street in Hamtramck.  The third fire was reported on Dec. 11, 2017 at Saeed’s Market in the 13439 block of Conant Street.  All businesses suffered substantial damage.

 

In all three cases, surveillance cameras captured the same individual entering the locked structures prior to the fires breaking out.
