ATF Offers a Reward in Convenience Store Fire and Robbery

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s) involved in a robbery and fire occurring in Hamilton, N.C. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office and Crime Stoppers is also offering an additional award of up to $1,000.

 

On January 8, 2018 at approximately 3:00 a.m., the owners of Whale’s Convenient Mart located at 13928 North Carolina Highway 125 in Hamilton, were robbed and assaulted by armed, unknown males.   Prior to departing the scene, the suspects used an accelerant to ignite a fire, causing extensive damage to the structure.   The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is assisting the Martin County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation with this investigation.
