ATF offers reward in gun store burglary

JACKSON, Mich. — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), in conjunction with the Blackman Township Police Department and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms industry, announce a reward of up to $5,000 for information related to a burglary at Action Discount in Blackman Township, Michigan.

Three suspects broke into the Action Discount store located at 625 Shirley Drive around 2:15 a.m., Nov. 5 and stole more than 10 guns, including one rifle.  It’s believed the same suspects returned to the location Nov. 7 and attempted to gain access to the store again but were unsuccessful.

ATF is offering a reward of up to $2,500, which will be matched by the NSSF for a total reward of up to $5,000.  The reward is part of a larger national cooperative initiative between the NSSF and ATF in which NSSF matches ATF’s reward in cases involving the theft of firearms from federally licensed firearms retailers.  ATF works closely with members of the firearm industry to curb the criminal acquisition and misuse of firearms.

Anyone with information about this crime can contact ATF at 1-800-ATF-Guns.  Information can also be sent to ATFTips@atf.gov.  Tips can also be submitted anonymously using the Reportit® app or by visiting www.reportit.com.
