ATF offers reward in gun store burglary

FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Il. . — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Wood River, Il Police Department, today announced a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for stealing several firearms from a federally licensed firearms dealer in Wood River.

The theft from Bendow City Sports, 19 West Ferguson Avenue, was reported on February 27 but is believed to have occurred on or around February 8. Numerous firearms were stolen from the business. The Wood River Police Department and Agents from the Fairview Heights ATF office are investigating. Investigators are particularly interested in speaking to anyone that may have information about a light colored SUV seen in the area of the break-in.

ATF and Wood River Police are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
