ATF in Partnership with National Explosives Task Force (NETF) Issues a Public Safety Advisory on Exploding Targets
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) along with the National Explosives Task Force (NETF) is increasing awareness on the potential dangers of misusing exploding targets in response to the number of reported accidents and in the interest of public safety.
Exploding targets are not regulated by ATF but can pose serious injuries or death if incorrectly used by a sportsman. The advisory is designed to inform people using or encountering the targets that, when mixed, they are high explosives and should be treated with caution and in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
