Beloit Man Sentenced to 60 Months for Distributing Heroin and Crack Cocaine
MADISON, WIS. -- Scott C. Blader, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Rodney L. Roach, 38, Beloit, Wisconsin, was sentenced today by Chief U.S. District Judge James D. Peterson to 60 months in federal prison for distributing heroin and crack cocaine. Roach pleaded guilty to this charge on May 14, 2018.
Judge Peterson found that Roach was responsible for distributing 125 grams of heroin and 47 grams of cocaine base. Further, Judge Peterson stated that it was concerning that Roach possessed a loaded firearm at the time police searched his residence on March 22, 2018. The 60-month sentence was necessary to punish the defendant and protect the public, Judge Peterson said.
The charge against Roach was the result of an investigation conducted by the FBI’s Safe Streets Task Force, which includes the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Beloit Police Department, Rock County Sheriff’s Office, Rock County District Attorney’s Office, Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The prosecution of the case has been handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Darren Halverson.
