Beloit Man Sentenced to Four Years for Distributing Heroin
David Barber One of Over A Dozen Persons Charged with Federal Crimes in Past Year as Result of G-ROC Investigations in Rock County
MADISON, WIS. -- John W. Vaudreuil, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that David L. Barber, 30, Beloit, Wis., was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge William M. Conley to four years in federal prison for distributing heroin.
Barber pleaded guilty to this offense on March 11, 2015, and admitted that he distributed heroin in the Beloit area in 2014. He has multiple prior drug convictions in Rock County.
Barber is one of more than a dozen people charged with federal drug or gun crimes in the past year as the result of investigations by G-ROC, a task force formed through the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Safe Streets Violent Crime Initiative. Its members include the FBI; Rock County Sheriff’s Office; Rock County District Attorney’s Office; Beloit Police Department; and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The prosecution of Barber was handled by First Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen Sinnott.
