Lockport Man Arrested, Charged with Ammunition Charge
BUFFALO, N.Y. - U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. announced today that Bob Odrzywolski, 72, of Lockport, NY, was arrested and charged by criminal complaint with being a felon in possession of ammunition. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Assistant U.S. Attorney George C. Burgasser, who handled the case, stated that according to the complaint, the defendant, a convicted federal felon, obtained ammunition from a local retailer. Subsequently, a search warrant was executed at Odrzywolski’s Crosby Road residence. During the search, officers recovered 10 handguns and approximately 2000 rounds of ammunition.
The defendant was previously convicted and could not possess firearms.
The defendant made an initial appearance this afternoon before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael J. Roemer. He is being detained pending a detention hearing on December 23, 2015.
The complaint is the result of an investigation by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Department, under the direction of Sheriff James Votour and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Delano A. Reid, New York Field Division.
