New Developments in ATF Gun Store Burglary

ATF, Firearms Industry Offer Reward in Pleasant Grove Firearms Theft

PLEASANT GROVE, Ala. — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has developed new leads in the firearms theft May 2015 from Federal Firearms Licensee Pleasant Grove Gun Supply at 839 Park Drive, Pleasant Grove, Ala.  Law enforcement believes the suspect was wearing an Emoji-T shirt similar to the one pictured in the wanted poster.

ATF in conjunction with the Pleasant Grove Police Department and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) — the trade association for the firearms industry — is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the theft of firearms from the Pleasant Grove Gun Supply.  ATF is offering $1,500, which will be matched by the NSSF for a total reward of up to $3,000.

On May 17, 2015, the Pleasant Grove Gun Supply, 839 Park Drive, Pleasant Grove, Ala., was burglarized and a total of five firearms were reported stolen to the Pleasant Grove Police Department.

Anyone with information about this crime should contact the ATF at (800) ATF-GUNS (1-800-283-4867).

This reward is part of a larger national cooperative initiative between the NSSF and ATF in which NSSF matches ATF’s reward in cases involving the theft of firearms from federally licensed firearms retailers.  ATF works closely with members of the firearms industry to curb the criminal acquisition and misuse of firearms.

ATF is the lead federal law enforcement agency with jurisdiction involving firearms and violent crimes, and regulates the firearm industry.  More information about ATF and its programs is available at www.atf.gov.
