Richmond Night Club Shooting Suspect Sentenced to 25 Years for Drug Trafficking
RICHMOND — Tyrone A. Harrison was sentenced in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Virginia, Richmond Division, on June 1, 2015 to 25 years in prison for using a firearm in the commission of a drug trafficking crime. This conclusion reflects multiple narcotic buys, search warrants, surveillance and interviews conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Washington Field Division (Richmond Field Office), Richmond Police Department and Henrico County Police Department.
On June 3, 2014, Richmond Police seized approximately 31 grams of cocaine, a .40 caliber pistol and $2,340 in cash from Harrison during a traffic stop. As a result, ATF and Henrico Police conducted a controlled buy of approximately 27 grams of cocaine from Harrison on July 31, 2014 and again on September 17, 2014. The Richmond street price of a gram of cocaine is approximately $100.
On September 20, 2014, an individual was shot and injured at a night club in the City of Richmond. Following the incident, ATF and Henrico Police executed a buy/bust on Harrison during which approximately 77 grams of cocaine, a .40 caliber pistol and $1,992 in cash were seized. A search warrant was also executed at Harrison’s residence and an additional $7,620 and two vehicles were seized.
Analysis conducted at the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) revealed that the seized pistol was the one used in the September 20th night club shooting.
