Rock County Man Charged with Stealing Firearms

Joseph Jakubowski Arrested in Vernon County Earlier Today

MADISON, WIS. – Jeffrey M. Anderson, Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced today the unsealing of a complaint charging Joseph Jakubowski, 32, Janesville, Wis., with stealing firearms from a federally licensed firearms dealer.
 
The complaint charges Jakubowski with stealing firearms and silencers from Armageddon Supplies in Janesville on April 4, 2017.
 
If convicted, Jakubowski faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison.
 
Jakubowski will make an initial appearance in federal court in Madison at 3:00 p.m.
 
The charge against Jakubowski is the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; Rock County Sheriff’s Department; Janesville Police Department; U.S. Secret Service; Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation; and numerous other law enforcement agencies from Rock County and the surrounding area. Jakubowski was taken into custody by law enforcement officers with the Vernon and Richland County Sheriffs’ Departments, the FBI, and other local law enforcement agencies.
 
The prosecution of this case will be handled by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Daniel Graber and Rita Rumbelow.
