Targeting Milwaukee Area Gun Crime

ATF, MPD Partner to Encourage Citywide Public Safety Campaign

MILWAUKEE ? Scott D. Sweetow, Special Agent in Charge of the St. Paul Field Division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and Edward A. Flynn, Chief of the Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) announced today a Tip Line Campaign to encourage the citizens of Milwaukee to report firearm-related crimes.

Milwaukee-area citizens can call 1-800-ATF-GUNS, 24/7, to report gun crime, and can remain anonymous when providing information. Depending on the level of assistance, citizens may be eligible for monetary awards if the information leads to a successful prosecution.

The campaign's goal is to increase citizen involvement in making communities safer and remind the public that it can report gun crime anonymously.
