Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives

DENVER – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Denver Police Department are seeking the identities and whereabouts of two women wanted for questioning in an unsolved attempted homicide in May.

At about 11 p.m., May 21, there were multiple shots fired at individuals near the 7-Eleven at 8755 E. Montview Blvd. in Denver. No one was injured.

The National Integrated Ballistic Information Network’s ballistic comparison capability linked the firearm used in that shooting to five other unsolved violent crimes in Denver Metro, including multiple aggravated assaults.

The women were driving a small black sedan, possibly a Toyota Yaris or similar vehicle.

It is a partnership between ATF, Denver Police Department, Aurora Police Department, Lakewood Police Department, the District Attorney's Offices for Denver, Arapahoe, Adams, and Jefferson counties, and the U.S. Attorney's Office. One of the technologies is the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network, or NIBIN, which provides federal, state, and local partner agencies with an automated ballistic imaging network. NIBIN is the only national network that allows for the capture and comparison of ballistic evidence to aid in solving and preventing violent crimes involving firearms.
