ATF: One of the Best Places to Work in the Federal Government

The
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives was ranked eighth
in a "best places to work" index complied by the Partnership for Public
Service and the Institute For The Study of Public Policy Implementation.

The Best Places to Work in the Federal Government is the first-of-its-kind ranking of 28 federal agencies and nearly 200 subagencies and the most comprehensive rating of employee satisfaction in federal government organizations to date.

The rankings are based on the opinion of over 100,000 federal employees who rate the agencies.

Each of the ranking categories is an index composed of questions from a OPM survey. Questions were asked on a 1 to 5 scale, which was converted to a 0 to 100 scale. The Best Places to Work Index is made up of four questions. Answers to the four questions were combined into an index.

ATF's score was 70.8. This score is very high compared to the government-wide average of 63.0. ATF's overall ranking was 8th best place to work.
