Hartford Man Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison for Distributing Heroin

David B. Fein, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that JOSE SOSTRE, also known as Goldoand Chuletta, 32, of Hartford, was sentenced today by United States District Judge Janet Bond Arterton in New Haven to 120 months of imprisonment, followed by four years of supervised release, for distributing heroin.

According to court documents and statements made in court, in 2011 and early 2012, SOSTRE supplied between 400 and 700 grams of heroin to individuals who then sold the drug to customers from a back window of a house located at 68 Lawrence Street in Hartford.

SOSTRE has been detained since his arrest on February 9, 2012. At the time of his arrest he also possessed a loaded .38 caliber revolver.

On June 25, 2012, SOSTRE pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin.

This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Hartford Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jonathan S. Freimann.
