Felon in Possession of Firearm Sentenced

Fort Wayne, Indiana — The United States Attorney David Capp announced that Kenneth Schambers, 36, of Butler, Indiana, was sentenced by District Judge Theresa Springmann to 98 months imprisonment and 2 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to the felony offense of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. According to documents filed in this case, Schambers has a significant criminal history, including a wide range of offenses for theft, resisting law enforcement, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and breaking and entering. This case was the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Fort Wayne Police Department. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tina Nommay.
