Bangor Man Pleads Guilty to Federal Firearms Charge

Bangor, Maine:  United States Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II announced that Perrin Oliver, 44, of Bangor and formerly of Brooklyn, New York, pled guilty in U.S. District Court to being a felon in possession of firearms.

According to court records, on July 4, 2013, Oliver, a previously convicted felon, was arrested by the police at his Bangor apartment.  During the course of that arrest, officers found a Rossi .38 Special revolver in Oliver’s waistband.  A safe located in Oliver’s apartment contained a SIG Sauer .380 semi-automatic pistol belonging to Oliver.

Oliver faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000.  He will be sentenced after the completion of a presentence investigation report by the United States Probation Office.

The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Bangor Police Department.
