Defendants Sentenced to Prison for Possessing Stolen Firearms

United States Attorney Kenyen R. Brown of the Southern District of Alabama announced that Antoinette Danielle White, 23, and Garland David McKenzie, 21, both of Pensacola, Florida were sentenced today for possession of stolen firearms. White and McKenzie were sentenced by United States District Callie V.S. Granade. White was sentenced to 23 months in prison and McKenzie was sentenced to 10 months. Following their release from prison, both defendants will e supervised by the United States Probation Office for three years.

White and McKenzie pled guilty to the charges in September, and both have been in custody since 2013. The two defendants, with others, burglarized a home in Pensacola in 2013 and stole, among other items, a gun safe. After cutting open the safe, White, McKenzie, Juan Kihry Gutierrez Jr., and Herschel Arnez Williams brought three firearms stolen from the safe to a Mobile business, where they attempted to sell the guns. All defendants pled guilty. Gutierrez was sentenced to 45 months in prison and Williams is scheduled to be sentenced in February. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Escambia County, Florida Sheriff’s Department. The prosecution was handled by Assistant United States Attorney Sean P. Costello.
