Welcome to ATF’s New York Field Division. Our dedicated work force is comprised of special agents, investigators, auditors, technicians and support staff serving the entire state of New York.
We are committed to reducing violent crime in our communities by denying criminals access to firearms and by removing armed offenders from our streets to face justice in our courts. Our criminal investigations routinely target the worst of the worst, putting a stop to the trigger-pullers, violent criminal organizations and gangs in order to keep our communities safe. ATF New York also focuses significant attention towards violations of the federal arson and explosives laws.
We also have the duty of regulating the firearms and explosives industry. Our goal is to ensure that all firearms and explosives are stored, received and distributed in accordance with federal law.
We believe very strongly that law enforcement begins with partnerships. We work closely with our federal, state and local counterparts to target criminals and criminal organization. We also need the citizens of New York to partner with us to stop violent crime in our neighborhoods. We encourage all citizens to get involved. If you have any information regarding illegal firearms or explosives trafficking, arson or violent gangs or illegal tobacco diversion, please give us a call and let us know. Our telephone number at ATF New York is (646) 335-9070. You can also submit tips by calling 1-800-ATF-TIPS, emailing us at ATFTips@atf.gov, or anonymously submitting a tip through the ReportIt® app, available on both Google Play and the Apple App Store, or by visiting www.reportit.com.
Together we can make a difference.
